Enide is the location of a county in Garfield County, Oklahoma. According to a 2000 census, the population was 47,045. It is located in the Red Carpet country area of Oklahoma. Enide was established when the Cherokee Exit opened in 1893, and was initially a stop along the Chitholum Road. Since 1941, it has also been the base of the Vans Air Force Base.

There are no passenger trains or buses for Enid, so you need to drive, bike, or walk to get there. It is about 70 miles away from Oklahoma City. Although there are regional airports that connect Dallas and Oklahoma City, it is convenient and economical for most tourists to jump into Wichita or Oklahoma City (OCT).

- Humphrey Heritage Village 507S. Day 4, 580☏ 237-1907. Tu-F, 9:00-5:00 p.m., Sa & Su, 2:00-5:00 p.m. A Victorian house was renovated. It is also known as "Gridewell Home." The original site where the settlers lined up and submitted their claims after the massive land burst that opened the Cherokee strip exit in 1893. The oldest cathedral of Enide and the original room's schoolhouse are also in the village. Free admission.
- 702N, one of the Oklahoma Railway Museum. Washington☏ (+1 580-233-3051). Tu-F, 1-4PM Sa, 10-1PM, Su, 2-5PM. Six railway taxis, a baggage car, a three-dome tank car and a 50-ton engine, serving as Enide (Union Pacific, BNSF, Grain Belt). Railway monuments are on display in the museum. a donation entrance
